WHAT IS ASSISTED LIVING AT HOME?
Seniors who require care can receive care in their own home, that is similar to care they would receive in an assisted living facility, for the same price or cheaper
It is care that is focused on meeting the clients needs (tasks, safety monitoring, home management) in an efficient way, as opposed to a focus on number of hours cg will be in the home

WHAT ARE THE DIFFERENCES
PROVIDENT CARE AT HOME
- Stay in your own home where most people would rather be;
- Your regular caregiver will have no more than two other clients to care for
- This increases the amount of individual time your caregiver has to meet your needs
- This decreases the number of people the caregiver has contact with that could inadvertently expose you to germs
- Develop a relationship with your caregiver and develop a custom plan for your day, each day
- Continue visits from family
- You dictate the menu for meals
- Keep pets
ASSISTED LIVING
- Bare down and move belongings to a new place
- The caregiver assigned to you that day will have 10-12 other clients to care for on an 8hour shift
- Decreased time spent with you, less than 1 hour cumulatively over an 8 hour shift
- Exposure to those clients as well as all other caregivers and clients that reside in the building
- Have multiple caregivers and adhere to the daily schedule planned by the facility
- Family visits are restricted because of virus
- Meals are based on their menu
- Unable to keep pets

IDEAL CLIENT

- Cognitively able to call cg or use pendant
- Needs help with tasks spread through the day but does not require or want someone in the home for several hours at a time
- Would prefer to stay in their own home
- Is not looking for “resort style activities” or socialization
- Cannot afford more than 8 hours per day of traditional home care
- Maybe only needs 2-4 hours or less of tasks per day but would benefit from multiple wellness checks or phone calls, or just household management
- Formerly would have asked you for multiple short shifts in a day
- Afraid of catching a virus in a congregate setting, but needs “assisted living”
- Client wants to stay home but family wants assisted living
- Does not live in a remote location
